It may surprise you to learn that asset allocation is considered one of the most important tools for successful investing. By diversifying among different types of investment options, you may be able to reach your long-term goals while managing your exposure to market risk. Asset allocation simply means diversifying a portfolio among different asset classes, such as stocks, bonds and cash equivalents, in an effort to manage risk.
The ADA Members Retirement Program, which is funded by a group variable annuity, provides an easy, convenient way to create a diversified portfolio best suited to your investment goals, time horizon and attitude toward risk.
Three Investment Strategies to choose from
We offer you three investment strategies from which to choose. Each method provides for the necessary diversification to help reduce risk while meeting your long-term investment objectives. The three investment strategies are Asset Allocation - Age Based, Asset Allocation - Risk Based, and Choose Your Own Investment Mix.
Investment Portfolios are subject to market risk, including loss of principal. For the Target Date and Asset Allocation Portfolios you will incur higher costs with these portfolios than if you were to invest directly in the underlying portfolios. However, not all of the underlying portfolios may be available as an investment option in the group annuity contract. An investor investing directly in the underlying portfolios would not receive the asset allocation and rebalancing services provided by Equitable. The Target Date Allocation Portfolios are not guaranteed at any time including the target date. Your account value may be less than your original account value at the target date.
